Discover the secrets of the Chinese language.

Develop an effective Mandarin vocabulary to impress and quickly establish rapport.

Improve your skills and confidence in doing Chinese business.

Rationale

Success in the Chinese economies of Asia requires training in the Chinese language and an understanding of the Chinese business cultures in Asia.

The Chinese economies of Asia include the People's Republic of China(PRC), Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore and the overseas Chinese all over the world. Written Chinese and spoken Mandarin is used in these economies. The business person who can understand and speak Mandarin has an advantage. However, knowing the language does not mean that a person can communicate effectively. A critical adjunct to language training is achieving effective cross-cultural communication skills and an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture.

This 3 Day executive program is designed to equip the participants with a set of useful and practical skills in doing business with the Chinese. Its uniqueness lies in its integrated approach in teaching both the Mandarin language and Chinese business culture supplemented with advanced cross-cultural communication techniques. The students' capacity to absorb the course material is also enhanced by the use of the accelerated learning methodology.

Workshop Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will have

- an understanding and knowledge of the structure of the Mandarin language

- an ability to speak, listen, write and read basic Mandarin for everyday purposes.

- a greater awareness of the cultural factors that influence Chinese business attitudes and practices.

- more effective cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills for doing business with the Chinese.

- added confidence in dealing with Chinese clients and colleagues.

Who Should Attend

This program has been specifically designed for highly motivated and Asia committed business executives who cannot afford the long time span normally required to learn a language like Mandarin. Alternatively, the executive who has an impending business trip to Asia or who is due to do business with visiting Chinese from Asia within the coming year would benefit from this program.
